First Ever Automated EP Mapping Procedure with Integrated 3D Mapping System

The first use of next-generation Stereotaxis automation technology took place August 8, 2006 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. Dr. Gery Tomassoni used integrated automapping technology during a complex right atrial procedure to reconstruct a precise representation of the patient’s cardiac anatomy. This second generation software fully automates a mapping sequence in the atrium and includes integration with 3-D mapping software without any human intervention required beyond a single key press. The new software has more intelligent algorithms that recognize when a mapping catheter has reached a chamber wall to automatically mark the location.

Combining automated control, precision and GentleTouch catheters to long and complex procedures may improve physician dexterity, increase procedural efficiency and efficacy and maximize patient safety.

Stereotaxis Achievements at Heart Rhythm 2006 Annual Meeting

Stereotaxis, Inc. and Stereotaxis technology was highlighed and featured throughout the 4 day Heart Rhythm 2006 Annual meeting in Boston, MA in May. On the first day of the meeting, a first-of-its-kind remote transcontinental cardiac ablation procedure was performed with the aid of Stereotaxis technology. Dr. Carlo Pappone operated the Stereotaxis system from Boston to help treat a patient in Milan, Italy during a live presentation. In addition to this presentation, there were 14 other scientific presentations at the meeting featuring Stereotaxis technology. Stereotaxis also co-sponsored a satellite educational symposium that was sold-out well before the meeting with over 700 attendees – nearly all being practicing physicians in the field of cardiac electrophysiology.

As part of the promotional activities, Stereotaxis enabled physicians to participate in a demonstration “Test Drive” of the Stereotaxis system using controls at the Convention Center in Boston to real-time, remotely navigate catheters in a phantom model at the Stereotaxis Training Center in St Louis.

For all its achievements, Stereotaxis was awarded the Innovator award from the Heart Rhythm Society.

Journal of American College of Cardiology (JACC)
JACC Describes the Use of Stereotaxis System to Navigate Left Atrium in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation - The Stereotaxis system was highlighted in the April 4, 2006 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) in an article, authored by Dr. Carlo Pappone and his group in Milan, Italy.  The article describes the use of the Stereotaxis system to navigate complex left atrial anatomy in 40 patients with atrial fibrillation.
