When in July 2016 Kakogawa Hospital became the second hospital in Japan to offer Stereotaxis technology, Dr. Katsunori Okajima was eager to employ robotic navigation with his complex EP cases. Just two weeks into the go-live, he successfully completed an extremely difficult procedure – a dextrocardia and IVC that was connected with the azygos vein.
“The Stereotaxis Niobe system is especially beneficial in cardiac venous malformations or for patients after surgery for congenital cardiac disease,” says Dr. Okajima. “It is very hard to reach the catheter to the affected area by manual procedures in such cases.”
Congratulations to Dr. Okajima, who has completed more than 100 procedures on the Niobe system!
