Dr. Wendy Tzou got her start with Stereotaxis technology as a fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. During this time, the hospital was participating in a multi-center trial studying catheter ablation of Ischemic VT with robotic magnetic navigation – known as the STOP VT trial. Today, as Assoc. Director of Cardiac EP at UCHealth of Colorado-Denver, she’s passing on her knowledge of robotic navigation to new fellows, finding the technology a “good teaching tool for understanding the role of electrogram analyses and catheter behavior in cardiac ablation,” she says.

Dr. Tzou also relies on RMN for her most complex cases, relaying the story of a retrograde entry procedure where she was able to atraumatically burn under the left cusp while maintaining catheter stability. For such a procedure, she notes that she “surely would have needed to take a different approach with manual.”
