Dr. Emad Aziz

Mount Sinai St. Luke’s

All of the advancements also intrigued me… [its] safety, stability and flexibility, which have allowed me to reach areas I could not before and made procedures faster.

Dr. Emad Aziz isn’t one to take no for an answer. When a patient presented at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s hospital in New York with 45,000 PVCs coming from under his left main artery, he had already tried ablations with three different physicians, who told him, ‘if we can’t help you, no one can’. “I asked him to give me a shot,” says Dr. Aziz. “It took about six months of convincing, but finally the patient agreed to a procedure using Stereotaxis RMN. After one burn, we had completely eliminated all PVCs and the patient has now gained back his life.  “Because of Stereotaxis’ stability I was able to do this.”

Dr. Aziz says nothing compares to the immediate change he is able to see in patients and one of the reasons he switched from interventional cardiology to EP in 1996. “All of the advancements also intrigued me,” he says. With the Stereotaxis system, which he uses for all VT patients, he is most impressed by its “safety, stability and flexibility, which have allowed me to reach areas I could not before and made procedures faster.”

Keep up the great work, Dr. Aziz!
