Miami Valley Hospital

Being seated affords me more control and enhances the education of our staff. From the Odyssey screen I can manipulate all the screens/systems, instruct the staff on how to operate the equipment, and walk them through different maneuvers, system operations and techniques as we progress through a case.

Dr. Mark Krebs of Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio has done over 600 RMN procedures since he requested Stereotaxis technology back in 2010. “The technology was truly intriguing. I think for me the big selling points were its soft touch, pinpoint accuracy, solid catheter stability and significant reduction in radiation exposure (typically less than five minutes for complex cases).”

For him, it’s about the patients he’s able to treat, “I deal with people from age 14 to those in their early 100’s and from varied socioeconomic backgrounds and walks of life. I’m truly most grateful for being blessed with this opportunity.”

He also appreciates the added opportunity to pass on his knowledge of EP, “Being seated affords me more control and enhances the education of our staff. From the Odyssey screen I can manipulate all the screens/systems, instruct the staff on how to operate the equipment, and walk them through different maneuvers, system operations and techniques as we progress through a case. If I were standing and tied to the table, these opportunities would be lost.”
