Dr. Seshadri Balaji
Dr. Seshadri Balaji of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) sums up the formula for practicing pediatric EP with three simple words: head, heart and hands. “It is extremely rewarding to work with kids and their families because I can help make them better and watch them grow as I see them for follow-ups,” he says.
His love for children steered Dr. Balaji into pediatric cardiology more than 30 years ago and his move into EP was a natural progression, he says, adding, “Not many fields can actually cure patients.” For the past few years, Dr. Balaji has employed Stereotaxis magnetic ablation in his complex congential patients for its “performance within difficult to reach parts of the heart and in procedures with baffles and abnormal anatomy.”
Thanks for putting the heart in cardiology, Dr. Balaji!
